framer buys online art store |
SAINTE
GENEVIEVE, MO -- Missouri Moulding and Glass (MMG), Inc.,
a full-service wholesale framing and fulfillment company,
has acquired Barewalls Interactive Art, Inc., along with
its flagship online art print and poster store, www.barewalls.com.
First launched in 1997, Barewalls.com was one of the first
businesses to capitalize on the growing demand for art
prints and poster sales made available over the Internet.
"We're very excited
about this opportunity," says Margaret Nohr, president
and chief executive officer of MMG. "By combining
MMG's experience, know-how and infrastructure with the
Barewalls.com brand and technology, we be able to offer
all of our customers an unbeatable service."
With more than
10 million visitors per year, Barewalls is one of the
Internet's most popular destinations for wall decor
shopping, offering imagery, ranging from expensive print-on-demand
content to traditional art prints. "This
is an auspicious moment for our company," says
Daniel Spira, co-founder of Barewalls. "We've developed
a strong relationship with MMG as a supplier, and we
know they have what it takes to bring Barewalls up to
the next level."
Barewalls will close its Canadian
division and will be relocating its customer service
and other key positions to MMG's headquarters in Sainte
Genevieve, MO.
